ORIGINAL KOREAN CRIME THRILLER “GOLD LAND” TO DEBUT APRIL 29 EXCLUSIVELY ON DISNEY+

When a naïve airport employee is tricked into unwittingly helping a smuggling operation, she will suddenly find herself with a ton of gold, running from some of Korea’s most dangerous individuals in Gold Land – an original crime thriller premiering April 29 exclusively on Disney+.

The streaming series debut of famed Old Boy screenwriter Hwang Joyoon, Gold Land follows Heeju, a young woman from a sleepy backwater town whose life takes a positive turn after she begins dating a successful pilot. Finally escaping her past and managing to hold down a reputable job at a nearby airport, things seem to be going well for Heeju until her boyfriend calls her pleading for help. Within days Heeju will find herself on the run with a ton of gold bars, hurtling towards the one place she swore she’d never return.

Gold Land stars Park Boyoung (Light Shop) as Kim Heeju, a determined woman desperate to escape her past, and Kim Sung Cheol (No Way Out, Troll Factory) as Woogy, a member of the criminal organization chasing Heeju. The series is written by Hwang Joyoon (Old Boy, Memoir of a Murderer) and is directed by visionary director Kim Sunghoon (Chief Detective 1958, Confidential Assignment).

Slated for a two episode premiere on April 29, two new episodes of Gold Land will debut every Wednesday through the season finale on May 27.
