A REFORMED GANGSTER FIGHTS TO ESCAPE HIS PAST IN “THE NICE GUY” — A NEW KOREAN DRAMA PREMIERING JULY 18 ON DISNEY+

This July 18, stars Lee Dongwook and Lee Sungkyoung return to Disney+ in “The Nice Guy”, an all-new fourteen-part Korean drama about a reformed gangster trying to escape his past.

Born into the third generation of a family of gangsters, Seokcheol grew up knowing nothing but the thrill of violence and family loyalty. Seen by others as nothing more than a thug, Seokcheol secretly harbors a dream of sailing off into the sunset to become an author like Ernest Hemingway. Torn between his love for his family and a desire for something more, Seokcheol will find himself further tested when he reconnects with his first love, Miyoung, an aspiring singer with stage fright. Supporting each other on the road to achieving their dreams, will they be able to break through and find happiness or will they be forced to succumb to their fears and their past?

Starring Lee Dongwook as Seokcheol, the eldest grandson of a crime family, and Lee Sungkyoung as Kang Miyoung, an aspiring singer with a difficult home life, The Nice Guy is written by Kim Woonkyung (Yuna’s StreetThe Duo) and Kim Hyoseok (Yadang: The Snitch) and is directed by Song Haesung (One DayBoomerang Family).

The Nice Guy is the newest KDrama announced as part of an eagerly anticipated slate of upcoming Korean content set to arrive on Disney+. Fans of unmissable Korean storytelling can also look forward to the recently announced Disney+ Original Delusion (working title), about a vampire in mourning; Low Life, which follows backstabbing degenerates desperate to recover a life-changing treasure; and Tempest about a diplomat and a special agent racing to uncover the truth behind an attack that threatens the stability of the Korean peninsula.

Catch The Nice Guy starting July 18 on Disney+.
