JTBC's 'Newsroom' Faces Backlash Over False Suga CCTV Report

JTBC's 'Newsroom' is currently facing backlash after airing CCTV footage that was falsely reported to be of BTS member Suga driving a personal mobility device while intoxicated. The footage, which aired on the 7th, showed a person driving in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, but it was later revealed that the person in the footage was not Suga and was driving in a different direction than Suga's actual location.

Following the revelation, JTBC deleted or made private all of the reporting footage from YouTube and other official channels. The problematic CCTV footage was also replaced with other footage in the replay video on the 'Newsroom' homepage.

Despite these actions, fans have expressed outrage and demanded an apology from 'Newsroom' for the false reporting. JTBC has responded by stating they are "confirming" their position on the matter.

This controversy comes after Suga was previously reported to have fallen while driving his personal mobility device home while intoxicated on the night of the 6th. He was turned over to the police and subsequently apologized for his actions, stating that "no one was harmed or any facilities were damaged, but this is my responsibility and I have no excuses, so I bow my head and apologize to everyone."
