BLACKPINK'S Jennie Officially Trademarks "JENNIE RUBY JANE"

According to Star News, BLACKPINK's Jennie has officially trademarked her full name, "JENNIE RUBY JANE," both in Korea and the United States. She filed for the trademark in January 2023, and after a review by the Korean Intellectual Property Office and a two-month public opposition period that ended in April, the registration was recently finalized.

Jennie's real name is "Kim Jennie," and she revealed in a past entertainment show that her name is purely in Korean. However, during her childhood, she studied abroad in New Zealand and acquired the name "JENNIE RUBY JANE."

This name holds special significance for Jennie, as she used it during her appearance in the American HBO drama "The Idol" that aired in June-July 2023, instead of her state name "Jennie." "The Idol" marked Jennie's first acting project, and she was invited to the Cannes Film Festival that year as a cast member.

Jennie's personal Instagram and YouTube accounts are also named "JENNIE RUBY JANE," further indicating her special attachment to the name. By securing trademark rights for this name, Jennie is solidifying its connection to her identity and protecting its use for future endeavors.
