ADOR calling out HYBE for using ILLIT to copy NEW JEANS

In a recent statement, ADOR addressed the conflict surrounding the similarity between ILLIT's debut album and New Jeans, attributing the cause of the controversy to the act of copying New Jeans.

The statement highlighted that HYBE's involvement in producing ILLIT's album, which resembled New Jeans, led to unnecessary controversy and damaged the image of New Jeans.

Despite ILLIT being under the HYBE umbrella, ADOR clarified that they do not condone or permit the imitation of New Jeans by any party, including HYBE and Belift Lab.

The statement emphasized that the multi-label system allows each record label to produce music independently and does not endorse the replication of another label's cultural achievements simply because they are affiliated.

ADOR asserted that they have never approved the copying of New Jeans by any entity.

In an interview with Daily Sports, Min Heejin discussed the future of NewJeans, expressing her surprise at HYBE's actions during a crucial time for the group. She mentioned, "I'm surprised that HYBE would do something like this at a very important time for NewJeans. This happened 4 days after I raised the objection and while waiting for HYBE’s response. I don’t think HYBE appears to have any regard for the condition or schedule of its artists. There are very important schedules ahead for NewJeans, so we are discussing what is the best course of action."
